Gladys Irene Miller

Gladys graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1940. On May 14, 1943, she married Warren “Bud” Miller. Together they raised four children.

She was very proud of her Norwegian heritage, including making four trips to Norway to reunite with relatives. Gladys had an infectious laugh that drew everyone to her. Gladys loved golf, Boundary Waters canoe trips, cooking, family dinners, walking, Dean Martin, and spending time with her grandchildren.

For over 50 years she organized neighborhood picnics for her family and friends.

Gladys is preceded in death by her husband, Bud; brother, John Kummerwold; sister, June Shumway; granddaughter, Karen Miller; and daughter-in-law, Linda Miller.

She is survived by her children, John (Patty) Miller, Richard (Anita) Miller, James (Barb) Miller, and Therese “Tari” Roe; sister, Ingie Stockstad; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Jarvi Dowd Funeral Home, 925 East 4th Street, Duluth. Interment will be in Park Hill Cemetery.
