Gerald Wayne Liston

Jerry was born January 21, 1936 to Patrick and Florence Liston. Jerry grew up in West Duluth and attended Denfeld High School where he was well known for his athletic accomplishments as a member of the varsity football team. After high school Jerry joined his father and brother at US Steel in Morgan Park.

Jerry and Carol Jeanne Conner were married on April 13, 1957 and together they raised five children. Jerry was a devoted husband and fun loving father and grandfather who left his family with many cherished memories.

In 1974 the Liston clan transferred to Baytown, TX with US Steel. After retirement in 1986 Jerry and Carol returned to Duluth where they worked together at Ray’s Bar and Grill.

Jerry loved following sports and was an avid Vikings fan.

He was preceded in death by wife Carol, his parents, and his brothers Donald, James and Patrick.

Jerry is survived by his children, Janette Osterhus of Wake Forest, NC, Michael (Carla) Liston of Duluth, Judy (Howard) Eastlick of Duluth, Jerry Jr (LaRayne) Liston of Duluth and Brenda (Kevin) Eastlick of Duluth; his grandchildren Dan Osterhus, Rick Simpson, Ryan Parks, Lauren Zenker, Erik Parks, Alisha Cash , Rachel Osterhus, Brian Eastlick, Christine Osterhus, Luke Eastlick, Dayin Liston, Patrick Liston, Nicholas Liston and Samuel Liston; 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Visitation: 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 7 in Elim Lutheran Church, 6101 Cody Street, followed by a Memorial service beginning at 2:00 pm.
