Dr. George Walter Lukovsky, 87, passed away unexpectedly at home on Huntington Street, Tuesday, January 10, 2017.
Dr. George was a life long Duluth resident and business owner. He grew up in Gary New-Duluth, where his family lived, and graduated from Denfeld High School. He served with the Minnesota Air National Guard and went on to Chiropractic school in Missouri. Dr. George was owner of Lukovsky Gopher Chiropractic Clinic on Central Avenue in West Duluth for many years.
He was active with the Proctor Lions Club and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was very health conscious, and loved to golf, dance and bowl.
Dr. George was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth L.; his mother, Sophie Oleksinski Lukovsky; father, Nicholas Lukovsky; brothers, Walter, who served as a U.S. Army Ranger during WWII; Dr. Peter; Alexander; John; baby brother, Joseph and a baby sister, Marie.
Dr. George is survived by sisters, Olga Lukovsky Milosevich of Minneapolis and Genevieve (Walt) Zivkovich of Leesburg, FL; brother, Constantine Lukovsky of Duluth; sister-in-law, Darlene Hedstrom Lukovsky of Duluth and many nieces and nephews.
Dr. George was a kind and generous man who helped many people and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
The family would like to thank the men and women of the Duluth Police and Fire Departments as well as Lukovsky Chiropractic Clinic for the special care Dr. George received from them.
