Carol Jean Johnson Pauna

Carol graduated from Hermantown High School, and she married Lester Pauna on March 8, 1952. She loved bowling, knitting, camping, and travelling with her husband after their retirement. Carol also loved flowers, family get-togethers and especially her kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents; grandson Thomas Pauna; stepfather Norman LaRoque.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Lester; children Gary (Bonnie) Pauna, Cheryl (Gary) Olson, Randy (Rita) Pauna, Kevin (Cheryl) Pauna, Jamie (Shelly) Pauna, Dan (Lisa) Pauna; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brother Stanley Johnson; niece Lisa and nephew Patrick Johnson; cousins by the dozens; and many friends.

Visitation will be 5-8 PM Monday May 17, 2010 at Bell Brothers, 601 N 56th Ave W, Duluth. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM Tuesday May 18, 2010 at St. John’s Catholic Church, 4230 St. John’s Ave., Duluth. There will be a visitation one hour prior to service, burial at Calvary Cemetery, reception to follow at St. John’s Church.
