Betty grew up in Proctor, Minnesota and graduated from Proctor High School in 1942. After attending business classes at Duluth Business University she went to work for the DM&IR at their Ore Dock office in Duluth. Betty married Robert Masterson on September 25, 1948 and left work to become a homemaker to the four children the couple had.
When Robert retired in 1985 the couple spent 24 years wintering in McAllen and Mission Texas where they made many wonderful memories. Betty had a variety of interests; she loved playing cards and was in several card and bridge groups. She was an avid reader, enjoyed eating out (Robert said she hadn't found the restaurant she didn't like) golf, and taking drives in the country. She was extremely devoted and proud of her children and grandchildren and any time spent together with them.
Betty was a member of First Lutheran Church of Duluth.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Solvay House for their excellent and compassionate care of Betty.
Betty was preceded in death by her Mother and Father - Ragna and Thoralf (Thomas) Peterson.
