Bernice Alice Strom Syrett

Bernice was born on November 7, 1921 to Andrew and Ellen (Johnson) Strom. She attended Denfeld High School and worked at various resorts on the North Shore until she married Roll Syrett on March 20, 1950. Bernice was a member of the French River Homemakers and the Duluth Township Homesteaders for many years. She enjoyed taking care of her home, baking, camping, traveling with her family, and finding “treasures” at rummage sales.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Roll; brother, Lawrence and sisters, Margaret and Elaine.

Bernice is survived by son, Steven (Inez) Syrett of Moose Lake; daughter Cheryl Syrett of Duluth; grandchildren, Stacia (Michael) Spiess of Sturgeon Lake, Derek Syrett of Navarre, FL, Jason Syrett of Moose Lake; great-grandson, Grady Spiess; brother, Ron Strom of Duluth, MN; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Sandra Mullen and special niece Sandy Sironen.

Funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at French River Lutheran Church 5310 Ryan Road with Reverend Greg Garmer officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Lakeview Palmers Cemetery.
