Anne J. Johnson, age 90, of Proctor, passed away Monday, September 24, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospice. Daughter of Charles and Anastasia (Martyak) Fraychak, she was born April 13, 1922 in Johnstown, PA. She met and married Orville Johnson, a member of the Army Air Corps, in 1944 in Hartford, CT before moving to Minnesota.
Anne worked for many years as the Executive Director of Housekeeping at Miller Dwan, retiring in 1989. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting and was a seamstress. Anne also loved recipes and would often bake and cook. Music and singing were favorite pastimes, as well as crossword puzzles. She was a league bowler for many years. Anne had a very witty sense of humor, which will be missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Orville; brothers, Charles, Michael, and John; and sister, Julie.
Anne is survived by daughter, Donna (Jibber) Swanson; son, Rodney Johnson; sisters, Mary Gregori and Genevieve Fraychak; and sister-in-law, Ethel Fairbanks. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many special friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. David Sproat, Anne’s “favorite doctor”.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church of Proctor. Visitation one hour prior to service at the church. Interment will be at Oneota Cemetery.
