Dr. Liem was born to Liem Kiem-Hwa and Tan Swie-Ing on July 26, 1939, in Ampel, Boyolali, Indonesia. He is survived by his beautiful loving wife, Kwie Fang Hshie, of 55 years; three children, Lorinda (Adam) Gies of Dublin, OH, Vincent (Krista) Liem of Broadview Heights, OH, and Quinn (Alexis) Liem of Danville, CA; and grandchildren, Ethan, Lucas, Aiden, and Caleb Gies, Nolan and Alaina Liem, and Kaiden and Adalyn Liem.
After graduating high school in Indonesia, Dr. Liem pursued his interest in medicine at the prestigious National Taiwan University School of Medicine. This is where he met his wife Kwie. After graduating and two years of residency, they came to the United States in 1970 to complete his residency in Youngstown, Ohio.
Dr. Liem had a strong passion for his career as a general surgeon and family practitioner in northern Ohio. He was well respected for his talents and liked by all. When he was not working, you could find him spending time on the golf course or working in the garden. After over 40 years of practice, Dr. Liem retired in Dublin, Ohio where he continued with his passion in golf, spending time with family, and socializing with friends attending dinners, karaoke, and ballroom dancing.
He will be deeply missed and remembered by the many lives he touched.
A service will be held at Schoedinger of Dublin; 5980 Perimeter Drive Dublin, Ohio 43017 on Friday March 17th at 3:00 pm, followed by visitation time 4:00-6:00 pm.
