On the evening of October 26, 2023 Theodore (Ted) Brown Stine passed away at the age of 68 after a courageous battle with cancer. Ted is survived by his beloved wife Sharon, their two sons, Michael and Mark, daughter-in-law, Rachel, grandchildren, Theodore (Teddy) (named in Ted’s honor) and Taylor, his mother-in-law, Carol Zawadzki, sister-in-law, Sue Dills and husband, Tony Dills, nephew, Dan Dills, and niece, Katie Carnicella and husband, Jimmy Carcinella. He is preceded in death by his father, D. Brown Stine, his mother, Joanne Stine, and father-in-law Norbert Zawadzki.
Ted was born June 8, 1955 in Indianapolis, Indiana where he grew up, attended Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School and eventually attended college at Indiana University. While at IU, Ted was a proud member and social chair of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and remains to this day surrounded by the love and support of his brothers for life.
Throughout his career, Ted spent his time in sales, which brought him to Lima, Ohio, where, in 1977, he met his loving wife Sharon. Ted and Sharon later moved to Dublin, where they built their family and a network of incredible friends and loved ones. Ted was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with family and friends on the course at his beloved Club at Tartan Fields.
Despite a difficult diagnosis in 2021, Ted spent his last two years filled with hope. Not necessarily of a miracle, but that somehow his strength, the efforts of his doctors and the love of his family and friends would grant him time. While we were not granted that much, the time Ted had here on earth was full. Full of love, family, friendship and happy times. Ted will be remembered by his loved ones as a steadfast gentleman, confident, calm, and devoted to those he loved.
The family invites friends and loved ones to honor Ted with calling hours on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Schoedinger Dublin, located at 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, Ohio. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Saint Brigid of Kildare Church, 7179 Avery Road, Dublin, Ohio, with a lunch and celebration of life following immediately after at The Club at Tartan Fields, located at 8070 Tartan Fields Drive, Dublin, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
Ted’s family wishes to extend their utmost gratitude and thanks to the nurses, doctors, and caregivers at M.D. Anderson and Ohio Health, and in particular, to those at Ohio Health Kobacker House for the care and compassion given to Ted during his last week of life. Your wisdom, compassion, and strength were a great blessing to Ted and the entire family during his difficult journey through cancer. For that we are forever grateful.
