It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Theodore James Spivey, who left this world far too soon on September 19th, 2024, at just 11 weeks old. Born on July 4th, 2024, Theo brought an endless amount of love, joy, and light into our lives.
Theo was a little adventurer, always wanting to "go places and do things." He loved being outside—though the bright sun wasn't always his favorite—but he couldn't stand the cold, especially after a warm bath, when the chill of lotion would always make him fussy. He loved going for walks in the park. His days were filled with the songs of Ms. Rachel, with Jules' voice making him smile, and in the quiet evenings, he stayed up late with Mom to watch Grey’s Anatomy in between baba dances, a cherished routine while Dad worked.
Music was in his soul. Theo found special delight in the sounds of the piano and strings, and the soothing sounds of his mother’s voice. Nothing calmed him more than a gentle head trace from Dad, or the comforting presence of Mr. Frog during diaper changes. Car rides were an adventure, but he hated red lights—Theo always wanted to be on the move, never wanting to be still for too long.
He is survived by his devoted parents, Stephanie and Zachary Spivey, who will forever hold him in their hearts. Theo's memory also lives on through his loving Grandpa and Mimi, Ron and Tonya Hinkle; Grandparents, Christina and Eric High; his caring Uncle and Aunt, Scott and Kaitlyn Hinkle, and his Uncle Tony Hinkle. He is also remembered by his numerous Aunts and Uncles who loved him that were Mom and Dad’s close friends. Theodore was preceded in death by his Grandfather, Stephen James Spivey, and Great Grandparents Marilyn and James Smith and John Hinkle.
Though Theo's time with us was brief, his presence was immense. He touched the lives of all who knew him and will be remembered for his radiant spirit and the love he inspired. We ask that in Theodore’s memory that you take the time to familiarize yourself with the current research regarding SIDS to bring awareness.
