Susan Whitehead Hamilton

On Wednesday, September 21st, 2022 Susan (Whitehead) Hamilton (87) passed away at her home in Dublin, OH surrounded by her family. Born January 27, 1935, in Detroit, MI, she attended Grosse Pointe Country Day High School and earned an associate degree from Mount Vernon Junior College shortly thereafter. She married William R. Hamilton III in 1956 and raised their family in Upper Arlington, OH before relocating to Sarasota in 1988.

Sue was an active member of the Venice Area Quilters Guild where she won many awards. Sue loved SW Florida nature and was a member of the Sarasota Audubon Society. She was also an avid golfer at both TPC Prestencia and Brookside Golf and Country Club. Sue’s greatest joy was her family and playing with her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband William R. Hamilton III of almost 66 years, her daughters Sarah (Scott) Immell, Jane (Kurt) Michael, Lynne (John) Damer, and five grandchildren, Chris (Danielle), Courtney, Nick (Jen), Jessica (Mike), Claire (DJ) and four great-grandchildren, Stella, Grady, Vivianne, and Benjamin.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, October 5th, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, 7121 Muirfield Drive, Dublin, OH 43017 from 1:00-2:30 pm, with a memorial service immediately following from 2:30-3:30 pm.
