Stephanie Lynn Malas, age 54, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on Wednesday, November 16th, 2022. Stephanie was born on January 6,1968 in Zanesville, Ohio to Audrea (Audge) and Linda Crawford. Stephanie’s childhood was spent in a busy house of five children, of which she was the oldest. She graduated from John Glenn High School in 1986 where she met her husband of 26 years. She attended Bowling Green State University and graduated in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in dance. Stephanie’s first job was in Japan followed by a tour as the yellow Power Ranger.
Stephanie was a servant and a giver. She was a welcoming and loving soul to many. She had a gift for helping and befriending people who needed it most. She often volunteered for her children’s schools and sports. More recently, Stephanie was the owner/operator of Kilwins Bridge Park in the heart of Dublin. She helped dozens of youths with their first jobs and worked with Dublin schools to help disabled students gain work experience. She was happy when many of these young employees “came out of their shell” and learned valuable communication skills. Through Kilwins, she donated to many causes, especially, The Buckeye Cruise for Cancer, Open Arms, and the Dublin Food Pantry. She continued to have a positive impact and added her sweetness to the community. She loved Dublin and called it her home.
Stephanie was most proud of being a mom to her kids, Reagan, Ryon and Raina to whom she taught many valuable life lessons. Stephanie had the brightest light and the kindest soul. She had an undeniable gift of helping people and with her passing, many have lost a friend. She had a sincere curiosity of other people's lives that made them feel comfortable and loved.
She is survived by her husband, Ernie Malas, three children, Reagan, Ryon and Raina Malas, mother, Linda Crawford Eckhardt, father and stepmother, Audge and Denise Crawford, mother-in-law, Harriet Malas, brother Mike Crawford (Lilly) and sisters Christina Yates (Brent), Melissa Donthnier (Matthew) and Lynette Crawford, sister-in-law, Diane Malas, nieces and nephews, Alex, Victoria, Amara, Lydia, Andrew, Nico, Mackenzie, Ashton whom referred to Stephanie as their second mom.
