Ramon gave his life to Jesus Christ at the age 59 “I want people to know that it’s never too late.”
Ramon graduated from DeVibiss High School in Toledo, OH in 1978. He went on to further his education and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1983 from the University of Cincinnati. In 1981, he joined the illustrious brotherhood of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., the Undergraduate Chapter, Psi Theta. Ramon continued to be an active member of the Beta Iota Graduate Chapter.
Ramon had an impressive career working with a number of Fortune 500 organizations: Samsung Electronics America, Cardinal Health, Telstra Corporation, E*TRADE Financial, The Home Depot, American International Group (AIG), Fidelity Investments, John Hancock Mutual Life, and MCI Telecommunications. And lastly, a position that Ramon held closely to his heart, OhioHealth Dublin Methodist Hospital. Like only Ramon, he volunteered at the hospital several days a week. He would arrive at 5:00 a.m. prior to starting his workday as a senior executive at Cardinal Health to greet same day surgery patients with that million-dollar smile. Giving back to the community was important to Ramon. He was committed to the Columbus Urban League and The Executive Leadership Council (ELC) and, 100 Black Men of Atlanta, Inc. Within each of these organizations, he taught those he touched and loved how to lead with their hearts, and how to open doors and to let each other shine. He reminded us that we have been given two hands – one to receive and one to give.
Ramon will be celebrated at a Memorial Service on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time at the Hilton Columbus at Easton, Grand Ballroom C, D & E, 3900 Chagrin Dr, Columbus, OH 43219.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for charitable donations to be made to The African American Leadership Academy and mailed to AALA C/O United Way of Central Ohio, 360 S.
