Ralph Edward Smucker

Born May 17, 1950, to Orrin and Blanche (Hillman) Smucker, Ralph grew up in Plain City as the youngest of six siblings. He graduated from Jonathan Alder High School in 1968 and went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Business from The Ohio State University. For decades, Ralph co-owned Smucker Companies (insurance, rentals, and construction) and significantly invested into the communities of Plain City, Dublin, and surrounding towns.

Ralph was a man of character whose life was defined by integrity and generosity. His strong work ethic and compassionate attention to the needs of others earned him widespread respect and made a lasting impact.

Ralph was adventurous, entrepreneurial, and resilient. He moved through life with a sharp mind, a quick wit, and a twinkle in his eye. He cared deeply for his family and will be profoundly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Surviving are his beloved wife Lisa, whom he married on June 30, 1996; his children: Jami Smucker (Ryan Morgan), Bradley (Suzy) Smucker, Heidi (John) Sebestyen, and Gabriele (Cade) Prince; his grandchildren: Ruthie, Olive, Abraham, Violet, Etta, Silas, Grayson, Baker, Duke, Charlie, Teddy, and Georgia; three siblings: Mary Ann Roth, Carolynn Underwood, and Richard Smucker; numerous extended family members; and many cherished friends. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ronald and Robert; his wife Charlene (Weaver); and an infant son, Carl.

A memorial service for Ralph will be held Friday, April 18, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, OH 43017, followed by a visitation from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
