Pamela Jean (Richardson) Haff, aged 74, of Plain City, Ohio, and formerly of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024, after a valiant battle with cancer. Pamela’s final days were spent surrounded by the love and comfort of her husband, daughters and siblings.
Born on July 27, 1949, in Bucyrus, Ohio, and raised in Upper Sandusky, Pamela was a pillar of strength and guidance in the lives of those who knew her. A proud graduate of Upper Sandusky High School in 1967 and Ohio Northern University in 1972, she was an esteemed member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. Her passion for education led her to a fulfilling career, first teaching at Angeline School and then serving the Upper Sandusky school district as a substitute and Title One teacher and district coordinator. A defining moment was the completion of her Master’s degree at the University of Findlay.
While at ONU, Pamela met and married the love of her life, Peter Haff Jr, on May 20, 1972, which blossomed into nearly 52 years of shared love and memories. Together, they raised three daughters: Heather (Kevin) Albanese, Melissa (Brad) Bowersock and Emily (Wayne) Rieser. Her legacy continues through her eight cherished grandchildren: Olivia and Nicholas Albanese, Darcy, Samuel and Colin Bowersock, Beckett, Maya, and Camden Rieser.
A master seamstress, Pamela’s artistry graced many Star Theatre productions and USHS musicals. Her devotion extended to her community as a 4-H advisor and her faith as a member, and Sunday School teacher, of the First Presbyterian Church in Upper Sandusky.
Pamela’s zest for life was evident in her love for travel, with Iceland, Switzerland, Australia and New Zealand being among her favorite destinations. Her most notable recent trip was at Disney World last summer with her entire family. She relished in playing cards, reading, delving into genealogy, and, above all, creating joyous memories with her grandchildren.
Pamela leaves behind her siblings Barbara Curlis, Fred Richardson, Kathy Summit and Robin Spoors, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Byron (Barney) and Thelma Richardson.
A woman of compassion, Pamela was a universal donor, type O+ blood, and took pride in her consistent contributions until her diagnosis of ovarian cancer. She lovingly crafted baby quilts for each of her grandchildren, a heartfelt tradition passed down from her aunt.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, from 5:00-8:00 p.m., and the funeral service will take place on Friday, May 10, at 11:00 a.m. at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, Ohio 43017.
In honor of Pamela’s life and legacy, the family requests that donations be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (https://ocrahope.org/*?form=donations) or the Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio (DSACO) (https://dsaco.net/donate/), in lieu of flowers.
Pamela’s warmth, generosity and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
