Martha Witter, 84, of Dublin, OH (previously of Upper Arlington, OH), passed away peacefully with family at her side on May 9, 2023. Martha was born on July 24, 1938, in Dayton, Ohio. She grew up on a farm in Sidney, Ohio, where she cared for the animals and crops alongside her father, mother, and grandma. She graduated from the Ohio School for the Deaf in 1958. She received her certification from Bliss College and worked at Motorists Mutual Insurance as a keypunch operator. She met the love of her life in 1959 at a church dinner and dance, where they were introduced by mutual friends. Martha and Jack were married on June 16, 1962, and were together for 35 years until Jack’s passing in 1997.
Family was her life, and she devoted her time to being a full-time wife and mother, and as a grandmother, attending school events, sports, and band activities. She was always there, cheering them on. She loved every moment she spent with her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. In addition, she loved to bowl with her church league. Traveling was another passion she shared with Jack and her family, with trips to most of the United States, Europe, and Australia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents, Walter “Dorl” and Florence Middleton; Grandma Dora Middleton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Juanita Cook; and several cousins and close friends. She is survived by her daughter, Marsha (John) Moore, and her four grandchildren, Jason, Sara and Megan Nippert, and Jack Moore. Celebration of Life services will be held on Friday, May 19th, from 11 am -12 pm, with a reception to follow immediately until 4:30 pm at the Schoedinger Dublin.
Special thanks go to Care360 Hospice and Cornerstone Caregiving for their dedication and caring for Martha during her final days.
