Mark Albert Peterson, 62, of Dublin, Ohio, passed away May 26, 2024, after a courageous 18-month fight against cancer. He was born May 15, 1962, to Carl A. Peterson and Marilyn A. Peterson. He graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 1980 and The Ohio State University in 1985 where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from the Fisher College of Business. He graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree. He was a partner at the law firm of Peterson Conners, LLP, Attorneys and Counselors at Law. He was a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and Columbus Bar Association as well as the fraternities Sigma Chi and Delta Theta Phi (International Law). He was voted a “Top Lawyer” multiple years.
A man of great integrity, Mark was genuine, kind, loving and was immensely loved by everyone who knew him. He was deeply devoted to his wife, Karen, his daughter, Kate, and of course, his dog Shaggy, faithful friend and companion. He was passionate about snow skiing, scuba diving, sailing, boating, sky skiing and living life at his Rose Lake cottage. His whole-hearted smile was evidence of the things he loved – a Buckeye game, the Grateful Dead, a Key West beach, or a snow-capped mountain. Mark’s ability to fully enjoy life’s experiences was evident even in his suffering.
Mark is survived by his wife, Leslye Karen (Barker) Peterson; daughter Kate McKenna Peterson; brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Sonni Peterson; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Gordon and Kathy (Barker) Denmark, Joe and Molly (Barker) Johnston; his aunt and uncle, Judy and Dr. Tim Fallon; cousins Cindy Gifford, Todd and Karin Waldron, Daniel Sensenbrenner; and nieces and nephews Tatum Peterson, Zachary Peterson, Mary Katherine Johnston, Grace Johnston Williams, Mitchell Johnston, Grant Johnston, Will Johnston, Andrew Denmark, Eric Denmark and Jody Denmark.
Mark’s gentle and quiet spirit was full of faith and confidence in knowing that he would be with Jesus when he left this earth.
No words can express how much he will be missed.
Visitation for Mark will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., followed a Funeral Service at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 3, at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, Ohio 43017.
