Gary Paul Comisso, born November 6, 1953, passed away on September 5, 2022. Predeceased by his parents, William and Italia Comisso, he is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Lily; his son, Michael, and brother, Bill. His extended family includes his nephew, William Joseph Comisso; his niece and goddaughter, Andrea Benavides; brother-in-law, Nick Latousakis (Argiro); sister-in law, Frances Bäby (Jim Miller); and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
A long-time resident of Dublin, Ohio, he was the owner of Lil’s Hallmark Shops for many years.
Gary was born in Follansbee, West Virginia and graduated from Brooke High School in 1971. He was a 1975 graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelors in Education.
Gary loved sports of all kinds – playing, coaching little league baseball, and an avid fan of his favorite teams, especially the Dublin Coffman Rocks, WVU Mountaineers, Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Proud of his Italian heritage, he was a member of the Columbus Italian Club. Gary was one of the funniest people anyone could know. A good friend to many, he never knew a stranger and had a good story for every occasion. His presence, sense of humor, and wit will be missed.
A funeral service for Gary will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 12 at SCHOEDINGER Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Dr. Interment at Union Cemetery.
