Donald L. Fisher Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and brother, passed away on May 10, 2023, in Powell, Ohio surrounded by his family. He was born on July 25, 1951, in Columbus, Ohio, to Donald Fisher Sr. and Patricia Fisher, the first of their six children. Donald, known to many as Don, led a life filled with love, joy, and a passion for family and knowledge.
Don attended Bishop Hartley and was elected class president before continuing his education at The Ohio State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. During his education, Don served in the Air Force and later established himself as a dedicated sales manager. Throughout his life, Don found solace and strength in his faith, being an active member of the Catholic church.
Don's vibrant personality extended to his various hobbies and interests. He took immense pleasure in watching and playing fantasy sports, especially when it involved his beloved Buckeyes. In his leisure time, Don could often be found fishing or skillfully manning the grill. He had a great affinity for war movies and TV shows, and he enjoyed challenging his mind with crossword puzzles. Among his greatest joys in life was spending time with his grandsons, creating treasured memories with them.
Family always came first to Don, and he will be dearly missed at family gatherings, where he never shied away from sharing his wealth of random trivia of history and sports. His overly chivalrous and apologetic nature brought warmth, laughter, and a sense of connection to those around him.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Patti, his devoted son, Donald III (Laura), and his adoring grandchildren, Max and Ryan. He is also survived by his younger siblings: Kathy, Tom (Kitsy), Dan (Wendy), Theresa, and Patrick (Darcy). Additionally, Don leaves behind ten nieces and nephews, who will remember him fondly.
A funeral service will be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Lewis Center, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the James Cancer Hospital or a charity of your choice, honoring Don's compassionate spirit.
In honoring the life of Donald Fisher Jr., we celebrate the memories shared, the wisdom imparted, and the love that will forever reside within our hearts. Don's legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in eternal peace.
