Otis “Dale” McClamroch, 86, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on April 1, 2025. Dale was born on January 20, 1939, in Mocksville, NC, to the late Otis and Helen McClamroch. Early in childhood, he moved to Akron, Ohio, with his family. Dale graduated from East High School and started working at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company shortly thereafter, where he remained for 42 years.
In 1972, he married the love of his life, Carol Boland, and this May, they would have celebrated 53 wonderful years together. Dale loved the outdoors and was an excellent golfer and skier. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family at the cabin he built in Southern Ohio.
Upon retirement, Dale and Carol moved to Hernando, FL, where he realized his longtime dream living on a golf course. They spent 20 amazing years in Florida, and in 2022, to be closer to family, they moved back to Ohio, settling just outside of Columbus.
In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his sisters Sylvia Hargreaves and Jean Foster, and brother Danny McClamroch.
He is survived by his loving wife Carol, his daughter, Jennifer (Ryan) Moser of Dublin, his two granddaughters, Reese and Mackenzie, whom he adored, as well as many other family members and friends.
Dale was the perfect example of a dedicated husband, proud and loving father, and fun loving and doting Pop Pop. To know him was to love him, and he will be missed every day.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dale’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, in hopes that one day, a cure may be found for this devastating disease.
Visitation for Dale will be held at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Dr., Dublin, Ohio 43017 on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until time of his funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Please share a favorite memory of Dale with his family at www.schoedinger.com
