The world lost a shining light of love and joy this past Sunday, June 2, 2024, when Angela Brubaker Wilt passed away peacefully in the arms of her beloved husband surrounded by family and friends. Angie was born October 28, 1976, to Carl and Elaine (Nyktas) Brubaker, in Toledo, Ohio. She grew up in Perrysburg, Ohio and graduated from Perrysburg High School in 1995. She then attended Denison University and graduated with a degree in English Literature in 1999. It was here that she met her future husband, Joseph Wilt in Astronomy class. They married in 2004 and spent the next twenty years loving and caring for each other, most especially through her long, relentless battle with breast cancer.
A smiling beacon of friendliness and fun, Angie drew people near her like a magnet of tenderness and compassion, constantly putting her needs behind those of her family, friends, and neighbors. Her compelling interest in who you were and what you needed drove her to be a wonderful advocate and friend. She was a reader, a thinker, a straight-A learner and the best example of strength and endurance in difficult times. Her butterfly laugh, her room-brightening smile, her cheery speaking voice – these will be missed.
Angie is survived by her husband, Joseph Wilt; her parents, Carl and Elaine Brubaker; her sister, Stephanie Brubaker Cape; her Godchildren, Julian Cape, Cecelia Duesler, and Nicholas Duesler; beloved nephew, Grayson Foster; beloved nieces, Tyler Foster and Lola Duesler; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of others who were made better by her friendship and love. Her celebration of life will begin with a visitation on Monday, June 10, beginning at 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 5:00 p.m., taking place at Schoedinger Funeral Home, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, Ohio, 43017.
