Mrs. Yvonne M. Hartzfeld

Born November 24, 1922 in DuBois, she was a daughter of the late George and Bertha Lines Kriner. She was married to Bryce F. Hartzfeld in December of 1940. He died in 1974.

She was employed as a Girl Scout Leader in Luthersburg and then with the Luthersburg Elementary School as a secretary until she retired. She was a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ where she had been on the choir. She was also a member of the former Brady Twp. Auxiliary.

She enjoyed word puzzles, crocheting, quilting, and reading.

Surviving are four daughters; Evelyn (Thomas) Cowan of Steelton, Thelma Zimmerman of Luthersburg, Maxine Cramer of Luthersburg, and Karen (Andrew) Haag of Luthersburg; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters; Charlotte Hein, Doris (Bob) Shannon, and Joan (John) Delaney; and one brother, Dean Kriner.

She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter; three brothers; two sisters; and two sons-in-law, William Zimmerman and Clyde Cramer.

Hartzfeld: Yvonne M., formerly of Luthersburg, died August 2, 2010. Friends will be received from 2-4p.m. and 6-8p.m. Thursday at Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc., in DuBois. A funeral service will be held at 11a.m. Friday at St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Luthersburg with Pastor Robert Newell officiating. Burial will be in St. Luke’s United Church of Christ Cemetery in Luthersburg. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, 4229 Golden Yoke Rd., Luthersburg, PA 15848.
