Born on September 23, 1933, the son of the late William and Ina(Fortney) Flowers.
Jim retired from Bell Atlantic Phone Company after 39 years of service. After his retirement from the phone company he opened his own private investigation service.
He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in DuBois, Masonic Lodge Avalon 0657, the Shriners International and was a past Republican Committee Chairman for Clearfield County.
Jim was a great husband and father, a friend to many and also an avid Steeler fan. He will be greatly missed.
James is survived by his loving wife Jean(Stanton) Flowers, who he married on July 3, 1957; four children: Kimberly Robinson of Woodland, PA, David Flowers of East freedom, PA, Elizabeth(Jeffery) Felker of Harrisburg, PA and Mark(Jennifer) Flowers, of Chicago; two sisters: Nancy Fenton and Mary Geist and a brother Jack Flowers all of Florida; also survived by ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the First United Presbyterian Church with Reverend Richard Howe officiating. Full military honors will be accompanied by the DuBois Area Honor Guard at Morningside Cemetery.
Friends will be received Wednesday, January 18, 2012 from 7-9 at Mohney Yargar Funeral Chapel. A Masonic memorial service will be held at 6:30 by the Garfield Lodge #559. An additional hour of viewing will be held on Thursday from 9:00AM at First United Presbyterian Church until the time of service.
Memorial donations can be made to First United Presbyterian Church or to the Shriners Children’s Hospital in Erie, PA.
