Anna was born on August 24, 1929 in Nova Scotia, Canada. This was the beginning of the World wide Depression. Her parents, David and Celienie Marinoff raised a family of five children, 4 daughters and 1 son. Her family struggled through the 7 years of the depression and Anna ended up losing her father at the early age of nine. She would often say those years made her who she was, " Strong, resilient and determined to be successful". She met John, a Polish immigrant, fell in love and was married in May of 1949. They migrated to the United States in 1953 after the birth of their first daughter, Darlene, bringing her mother Celienie with them. They chose California as their home state. Five years later they had an addition to the family, with the birth of their 2nd daughter, Janis. They worked hard and accomplished a successful life style. Anna and her husband, Jerome French, resided in Downey, California for over 40 years, until spending their last 14 years, together, in Crestline, California. She is survived by her husband, daughters, stepson, son-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.millermiesdowneymortuary.com for the French family.
