Mr. Samuel T Judd, age 64, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 20, 2016. He was born October 31, 1951, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Judd moved to the Atlanta areas in 1969 to attend DeVry Institute of Technology, where he studied radio broadcasting technology. Mr. Judd enjoyed over 20 years working in the music industry as roadie and crew manager for bands such as Hydra and Blue Oyster Cult. After his time on the road, he spent more than 10 years at Polaroid Corp. as a camera repair technician.
Known for his big laugh, big heart, and mischievous nature, Judd had a passion for loud music, good food, and a child-like love for fast cars (Nascar, Indycar, etc). Judd was also an avid fan of space exploration and was always ready to point out the international space station when it was visible in the atmosphere. He could usually be found watching a race or turning up the volume on a favorite album, always surrounded by his crew of adoring kitties.
He is survived by his wife, Margot A. Judd; his daughters Rosalie R Judd and Katrina A. Judd and sisters, Bianca Judd Allen and LaGonda Lee Mapes. He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Lee; sister, Vera Joyce Haulk and parents, Bethel Thomas Judd and Alma (Billie) Rhea Judd.
A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date, details for the service will be posted here as they become available.
