Mr. Charles Royce Camp, age 70, of Kissimmee, Florida, formerly of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021.
The son of the late John Hugh Camp and the late Alice Julia Gossett Camp, he was born on October 28, 1950 in Douglasville, Georgia. He was one of seven children.
Royce had a career in commercial construction that expanded into real estate. His nearly 35-year construction career included assisting with Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney), Orlando International Airport expansion projects as well as various gas stations and restaurants throughout Florida.
Royce was an avid hunter and fisherman with a dry sense of humor. He enjoyed using colloquialisms like “bicycle” instead of “goodbye” and “just peachy” when someone asked how he was doing. He found joy in playing the guitar, singing, or listening to gospel, bluegrass and classic country. His wife called him “Mr. Fix It”, he was always piddling on some project, building something, fixing things or discovering how they worked.
Royce’s memory will be cherished by his loving wife of 46 years, Nina Vansant Camp; children, Dustin W. Camp, Paula A. Crosby (Jerry) and Lillian L. Camp; grandchildren, Kylie Roberson (Shea), Jacob Turner (Marisa), Kaitlin Crosby and Dustin Crosby; great-grandchildren, Caiden, Wesley, Alaina, Raelie, Tyson, Kenley, Allie and Maddie; siblings, Thomas Camp, Linda Palmer, David Camp (Judy), Darlene Collins (Eddy), Jeffrey Camp (Sherri) and Curtis Camp (Gwen); and mother-in-law, Wilma Vansant.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life Service at a later date for close friends and family due to COVID concerns.
