Ms. Rosemary Smith, age 58, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away in her home on Wednesday evening, March 11, 2020. Rose was born on November 14, 1961 in Mastic Beach, NY, the daughter of the late Rosemary and James Geiger.
She was married to Lance Smith for twenty-one years until his passing in 2005. Rose courageously raised their four children, Sandy, Jacque, Andrea and Lance to successful adulthood. She took a lot of pride in her children and supported their every endeavor.
Family was the most important part of her life, and in her last four years she relished every moment spoiling her four grandchildren, Reid, Ellie, Trace, and Ava. Rose was the second youngest of seven siblings and remained close to them despite the long distance.
Those who knew Rose would describe her as a strong, independent, and giving woman who always had her next projects planned. Rose unapologetically spoke her mind and encouraged others to give 100% in everything they pursued.
Rose worked with youth as a 4-H program assistant and volunteer for over twenty-five years. She impacted thousands of students in her career through classroom teaching, extracurricular cooking clubs, and community events.
Outside of work, she enjoyed hosting and cooking for people. She welcomed everyone in her home and to her pool for the summer. She loved the ocean and intended to “retire in a tiny home on the beach.” Rose is now rejoicing in Heaven with her husband, mother and father.
She is survived by her children Sandy and Ronald Eidson, Jacque and Thomas Clarke, Andrea and Matthew Rego, and Lance and fiancée Carleigh, along with her grandchildren, siblings, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Rosehaven Funeral Home on Sunday, March 15th from 3-6 p.m. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, March 16th at 11 a.m.
