Ronnie was an incredibly generous man and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was good with his hands, able to accomplish a variety of tasks and his skills were in high demand. He took pride in his yard and made sure that everything was perfect, from the grass to the flowers. Ronnie enjoyed being outdoors, playing golf, fishing with his family and having family picnics. He also loved to go out boating with his brother, Marion, and deep-sea fish. When watching sports, he was rooting for the Atlanta Braves and the Falcons.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Georgia Holmes; his brothers, Bobby Holmes, Jerry Holmes, Eugene Holmes, and Marion Holmes; and sisters, Virginia Rice and Faye Robinson.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Barbara Holmes; daughter, Diane (Jeff) Holder; sister, Carol Mcgahee; grandchildren, Stephanie Holder, Dane (Nicole) Holder, and Travis Holder; 3 great-grandchildren, Aria, Alivia, and Everett; one great-great-granddaughter on the way, Madeline; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church of Lithia Springs, Georgia on February 17, 2024 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 2p.m. at the church.
