Pamela C. Gates, age 61, of Paulding County, passed away peacefully at her residence Friday morning, June 4, 2021. She was born March 23, 1960 in Franklin, Georgia, the daughter of the late Coy and Barnel (Wright) Chapman. As a child, she grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. Pam was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Tony Gates, in June of 1977. Together they were blessed with two sons, Lindsey and Jason. Pam was a homemaker who loved the simpler things in life. Pam was known to be a very down-to-Earth person, who was always humble and kind. She was wonderfully devoted to her three grandchildren. Pam faithfully participated in as many school and sporting events as she could being the number one cheerleader to the grandchildren she loved and adored so much. In her spare time, Pam enjoyed travelling, spending time at the beach, as well as in the mountains.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Darrell Hill; and sister, Karen Johnson.
Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Anthony “Tony” Gates; sons, Lindsey Gates (Jennifer) and Jason Gates (Paige); sisters, Paula Hopkins, Karla Tarket (Jack) and Kristi Kurmay; and three grandchildren, Teagan, Brendan and Connor.
