Mary D. Nichols, 77, of Douglasville, Ga, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025. Born in Talladega, Alabama, she was the beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured her family above all else.
The daughter of the late Mr.James C. Wilcox and the late Mrs. Mary Jo Wilcox, she was born in Talladega, Alabama on March 5, 1948.
Mary dedicated much of her career to working at the Coaster Company of America, where she built lasting friendships and was known for her kindness and dedication. Outside of work, she was a passionate supporter of Alabama football, always cheering for her team with the energy and spirit that defined her. She also had a love for card games and game shows, often gathering with loved ones to enjoy these favorite pastimes.
Mary’s greatest joy was her family. She poured her heart into her loved ones and will be remembered for her nurturing nature, laughter, and the warmth she brought to every room. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom were fortunate to have known her.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her brother, Mike Wilcox and her daughter, Mary Christina "Chrissy" Nichols.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Jamie Nichols; daughter; Michelle Legg; sisters, Vista Morris, Jane Corbin; grandchildren, Cody Nichols, Madison Legg, Dale Morris, Donald Legg, Brittany Clay, Brandon and Marty Clay, and numerous others; great grandchildren; Harley, Donnie, and Elizabeth Nichols , AJ Jones, Rosalyn, Ja'Royce, and Elijah Clay,Marleigh Jane Morris, Nataleigh Morris.
In keeping with Mary's wishes her body will be cremated after her public visitation.
A visitation for Mary will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home, 8640 Rose Ave, Douglasville, Georgia 30134.
