Mary Eleanor Agan, age 81, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on June 5, 1943—the daughter of the late Arnold McLendon and Loraine McLendon.
Mary Eleanor loved crafting and spent many hours creating beautiful things that showed off her talent and attention to detail. She especially enjoyed sewing and making quilts, putting love into every stitch to create special pieces for her family. Mary Eleanor treasured the time spent with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren, and loved sharing her creativity. Her heart was happiest when surrounded by family. She and her husband took many fun trips together, especially to the North Georgia mountains and Panama City, where they enjoyed the beauty of nature and each other’s company. Mary Eleanor's love for family, crafting, and travel will always be remembered by those who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mary Eleanor is preceded in death by her son, Donald Scott Agan and her sisters, Margaret Payne and Linda Hand.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Donald Wilburn Agan; Daughter Donna Rhyne (T.R. Rhyne); brother David McLendon (Jo Marie); grandchildren, Erin, Brian (Mary), Courtney, and Ashley (Nehemiah); and six great grandchildren.
A visitation for Mary Eleanor will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Whitley Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home.
