Mrs. Marjorie Louise Smith, age 87, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away April 20, 2016. She was born July 26, 1928 in Birmingham, Alabama. Mrs. Smith was of the Baptist Faith and was an example of the Proverbs 31 woman. She was a very Godly woman and was always there for people. She was an example of hospitality in being a good friend and caretaker to everyone she knew. It was her pleasure to hand out programs in church and ministered to people by sending greeting cards. Mrs. Smith loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed embroidery, sewing and was a good cook. A woman always on the go – she loved to travel.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Earl Smith; her parents, Henry and Ethel Reece Reid; and a brother, Foster H. Reid.
She is survived by daughters, Sherry Donehoo and husband Bart, Joy Pelloquin and husband Jerry, and Jackie Dillard and husband Tim; sister, Margaret Kelly; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews and other family members.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, April 25, 2016 from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM with a reception. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel.
