Mrs. Marie Ermite (Pierre-Louis) Laguerre, age 98, of Villa Rica, Georgia, formerly of Brooklyn, New York, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 in her home surrounded by loved ones.
She was born to late Mr. Justin Pierre-Louis and the late Mrs. Philomene (Dossous) Pierre-Louis on February 4, 1922 in Croix-Des-Bouquets, Haiti. She was one of three children; her brothers include Mr. Bernard Pierre-Louis and the late Ludovic Pierre-Louis.
Mrs. Laguerre was a long time resident of Georgia since 2006. She was a very loving woman who was devoted to her family and also the Lord. She was quiet and giving of herself to others – she shared what she had with those around her. She found joy in listening to music, sewing and reading. She devoured books in her library and her favorite was always the bible. She was a member of Philadelphie Seventh Day Adventist Church of Douglasville, Georgia.
Mrs. Laguerre is preceded in death by her husband, Urbaine Charles Laguerre; parents, Mr. Justin Pierre-Louis and Mrs. Philomene (Dossous) Pierre-Louis; daughter in law, Mrs. Marie Rose Laguerre; brother, Mr. Ludovic Pierre-Louis; and sister in law, Mrs. Yvette Pierre-Louis.
Her memory will be cherished by her son, Mr. Ulrick Laguerre; brother, Mr. Bernard Pierre-Louis; grandsons, Joshua and Stanley Laguerre; granddaughter, Ivane Laguerre; great-grandchildren, Craivan and Raina; cousin, Mrs. Antonia Nawd; second cousins, Chamberland Nawd and Zila Nawd and her children, Cynthia, Rachel and Kidler; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
The family will receive friends from 10:00am until 11:00am on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Philadelphie Seventh Day Adventist Church 6754 Church Street Douglasville, Georgia 30134. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00am in the church’s chapel with Pastor Jean Hercule Toussaint officiating. A committal service will follow at Peaceful Meadows Memorial Cemetery in Dallas, Georgia where she will be laid to rest.
