Marcia was born in Memphis, Tennessee on May 22, 1938, the daughter of the late John Robert Tindall and Eugenia Stroup Tindall.
Marcia was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and wife. She was passionate about her family but also had a deep love of genealogy and the historical story behind her family and everyone she encountered. She always wanted to assist others in investigating their family history, and often created beautiful books to preserve their lineage for years to come. These treasures included pictures, documents, and required hours of research to complete. These were always given as a gift of her love and devotion. She was a devoted member of the Douglasville Genealogy Society as well as the Daughters of the American Revolution. She worked with the cemetery foundation in Douglasville to protect and clean gravesites around the county. In her prime, she loved traveling with her family to historical locations where she explored cemeteries and battlegrounds of people she was researching. Her loving devotion brought out the best in those around her. She was truly loved and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by sons, Michael Keith Atkins (Dana), John Richard Atkins (Libby), and; daughters, Elizabeth Atkins Kent (Skip) and Sandra Atkins Grigsby (Scotty); brother, John Robert Tindall, Jr.; sister, Nancy Tindall Rice; grandchildren, Shon Atkins, Rebekah Morgan, Marshall Breit, Ryan Kent, Kirsten Kent, Samuel Kent, Scotty David Grigsby, Mary Grigsby Brown, Megan Reed, Erin Grigsby; great grandchildren, Kaylin Atkins, Connor Atkins, Reagan Kent, Emory Brown, Liam Brown, Connor Reed, Caleb Reed and Riley Grigsby.
