Mr. Lewis T. Brookshire, Sr., age 75, of Douglasville, GA passed away Monday, May 25, 2015. He was born February 14, 1940 in Atlanta, GA. Lewis retired after 22 years of service as Lieutenant with the Clayton County Police Department. He was also a Navy veteran.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, J.M. and Mildred Brookshire as well as his sister, Betty Cooper.
He is survived by his sons, Tommy Brookshire and Mike and Janet Brookshire; daughter Dottie and husband Rusty Parker; brother James Brookshire; sisters Mary Daly and Diane Clark; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous other family and friends as well as his life-long friend, Thomas Hales.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 12 o’clock pm until 2 o’clock pm. A memorial service will follow at 2 o’clock pm in the Rosehaven Chapel.
