Mr. Larry “Papa Warry” Earl Robbins, age 77, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away Friday, August 14, 2020. A native of Douglas County, Larry was born in Douglasville on August 18, 1942 to the late Earl and Eva (Swofford) Robbins. He was the second oldest of eight children. Larry was a funny, kind and charming man who had a great personality and got along with everyone. He owned his own company for over 20 years and was a former teacher at Douglas County High School where he taught History and Driver’s Education. He enjoyed golf, reading, hunting, and loved nature, the birds and being outdoors. He was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Douglasville. He served as a Deacon, following in his Father’s footsteps. He enjoyed playing softball with church groups.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Melba Harper.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Joyce O. Robbins; daughter, Lori Robbins of Atlanta, Georgia; son, Alan Robbins of Douglasville, Georgia; four brothers; two sisters; one grandchild, Audrey (James) Perdue of Douglasville, Georgia; one great-grandchild, Hunter Perdue of Douglasville, Georgia; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family is planning a private celebration of his life.
