Judy and I became fast friends at the Food Cupboard in Rochester, NY on Portland Avenue. She helped me learn the "ropes" of interviewing and setting up our groceries and  filling orders from our clients.  We cliqued and were friends frequently talking about having lunch.  All of us who knew Judy have missed her when she was so ill and now also.  She and her family are is in my prayers.

It was indeed a pleasure to have had you as neighbors for the last 10 years in Irondequoit.  Judy was always friendly and nice to us.  We are very sorry to hear of her passing and express our deepest sympathies.

My mother was a patient and caring gentle soul to my father, my brother and me throughout our lives.  She had an endearing sweet, playful and almost mischievous streak that was uniquely her own.

Over the past several years as my mother recovered from a series of small strokes and spinal stenosis, she made great strides from being bedridden, unable to move from the waist down, to sitting in a wheelchair, determined to be discharged, to being able to freely stand and walk with assistance. Most recently she was able to walk using a cane, and sometimes, with nothing at all!  We were all so proud of the progress she persevered and endured to become able-bodied once again.

At the height of this recent improvement, just as she had nearly fully recovered and rejoining the ranks of able-bodied adults, we suddenly lost her due to an unknown medical issue.

Our family just moved to Dallas, GA three months ago and we really appreciate the outpouring love and compassion from people far and wide. 

Rather than a photo with flowers or some serious pose, I've attached a photo of my mother when a new bathtub was installed. She was not advised to minimize bubble bath soap when using a bathtub equipped with bubble jets.  She was covered in suds, wearing an innocent grin, something akin to the ones where my brother and I would have after we did something we shouldn't have! Instead of helping mom's cry for help, dad took a picture!  (Then he helped her.)  This photo brought a smile to my face in this otherwise shameful and traumatic experience.  I hope you too enjoy the photo and remember her life with a smile on your face, not tears in your eyes.
