She was born in Mississippi on May 10, 1935, the daughter of the late Clarence Hawkins and Edith Myers. Joyce had spent time in her Douglasville home since 1965, where she enjoyed taking care of her family. She was a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She married the love of her life, Gene Meadows, in 1954 and he died in 1980. Through the years, Joyce had been the owner of many dogs, and she had loved each one of them. Growing plants and flowers was a hobby for her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Brian Davidson, son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Ann Meadows; grandchildren: Kathryn Davidson (Malone Walker), Rebecca Davidson, Zac Meadows, Sam Meadows; great-great grandchildren: Kip Davidson, Seneca Davidson-Walker and Blythe Davidson-Walker; brother, Fred Hawkins.
In accordance with her wishes, the family will have a private graveside service.
