John T. Jewell Jr.

Mr. John Theodore Jewell, Jr., age 70, of Lithia Springs, GA passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015. He was born January 11, 1944 in Hapeville, GA. Mr. Jewell served his country in the U.S. Marines, serving faithfully in the Viet Nam Conflict. He retired as a service tech with over 40 years of service. Mr. Jewell loved his family; enjoyed shooting guns and target practice. He was a good handy man, loved the oldies music of the 50’s and 60’s – especially the old-time rock and roll, and enjoyed watching war movies. He was a member of the Battle Hill Masonic Lodge #523 F&AM in Lithia Springs, GA.

Mr. Jewell was preceded in death by his parents, John T. and Sara Dozier Jewell, Sr.; and a sister, Jo Ann Lawrence.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Jewell; a son, JohnT. Jewell III and wife Tammy; daughters, Barbara Price and husband Johnny; Shelia McJunkin and husband John, Cynthia Nichols and husband Josh; brother, Richard Jewell and wife Nancy; sister, Sandra Cureton and husband Earl; brother-in-law, George Lawrence; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the Rosehaven Chapel on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 2:00 PM with Reverend Terry Marbut. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the service time.
