James Whitridge Twyford Sr.

James was born in Charleston, South Carolina on March 27, 1928, the son of the late William Henry Twyford, Sr. and the late Mildred Laney Twyford. He worked for Alcoa Aluminum for thirty-two years and retired as plant manager. James was an avid golfer and he enjoyed traveling all over the world. He was a member of several civic organizations to include the Kiwanis Club of Maryville, Tennessee and he was a Rotarian in New Kensington, Pennsylvania Rotary Club. James was Presbyterian by Faith.

His son, James Whitmire Twyford, Jr., daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and J.R. Crowell: grandchildren, James Twyford, III, Andrew Ross Twyford and Allie Crowell survives him.

In addition to his parents, William Henry, Sr. and Mildred Twyford, he is preceded in death by his wife of sixty-four years, Kathryn Evans Jones Twyford, daughter-in-law, Terri Twyford, brother, William Henry Twyford, Jr., and sister, Virginia Stephens.

In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated and a private service will be planned at a later date.
