Mr. James ‘Jimmy’ Melton Jones, age 72, of East Point, GA passed away Friday, November 7, 2014. He was born July 15, 1942 in Atlanta, GA, son of the late C.W. and Bertice O’Neal Jones. He is survived by his son, Matthew (wife Katie) and his daughter Susan. He is also survived by his grandchildren Tyler Davis, Sara Jones and Seth Jones, his sister Janet McKinney (husband Mark) and nephew, Ryan McKinney and niece, Meagan Brock. He is also survived by his former wife Jeanne Jones, the mother of his children, and former wife Linda Jones, step-children Whitney Wilkie and Scott Davenport. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, November 9, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be Monday, November 10, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Heritage Baptist Church. Mr. Jones will lie-in-state at the church from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, GA.
