Jack Clinton McCoy, Sr., age 67, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021. He was born March 2, 1954 in Waleska, Georgia. Jack was a great father and loved his boys. He was a talented carpenter who could build a house from the ground up. Jack enjoyed nature and being outdoors, especially fishing, boating and camping. He was an avid fan of the Atlanta Falcons and NASCAR. He loved Dale Earnhardt. In his spare time, he enjoyed card games, watching Westerns and game shows in the evening. Having been a direct descendant of the McCoys of West Virginia—Jack was an authentic “Real McCoy”.
Preceding him in death were his mother, Joann “Granny” Smith; granddaughter, Megan Frank; sister, Debbie Smith; sister-in-law, Susie McCoy; and his beloved canine companion, Max.
Those left to cherish his memory are sons, Clint McCoy of Johns Creek, Georgia, Jody McCoy (Faye) of Lithia Springs, Georgia and Michael McCoy of Austell, Georgia; brothers, Jerry McCoy (Cindy) and Perry McCoy; sisters, Sandra Smith, Sheila Smith-Boring and Annie Joyner (Mike); seven grandchildren, Nickolas, Jade, Bailey, Casey, Corey, Vince and Laney; four great-grandchildren, Cael, April, Levi and Logan; the mother of his sons, Debbie Tolmich; as well as several nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Rosehaven Chapel.
