Jack F. Gamel

Mr. Jack Fred Gamel, age 69, of Douglasville, GA passed away Monday, May 15, 2017. He was born April 13, 1948 in Frankfurt, Germany. Mr. Gamel was an Army veteran who proudly served during the Vietnam War. He also served with the Jaycees, as National Treasurer and faithfully lived by the Jaycee creed. Jack was the sole owner of Jack F. Gamel, CPA, PC since 1974. He had 9 employees and specialized in tax and small business accounts. He also owned Gamel Realty, LLC with his wife since 1992. They primarily specialized in residential real estate investments. Mr. Gamel was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. He was active in numerous civic organizations, including being past president of the Douglas County Rotary Club, past chairman of the Douglas County Republican Party, Georgia Delegate at the 2000 Republican National Convention, 40 plus years as various other local and state positions, member of the Douglasville Masonic Lodge, Sweetwater Shrine Club and Yaarb Temple, Post 145 of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Douglas County Chamber of Commerce and Douglas County Industrial Development Authority of which he was past chairman for 7 years. He also loved politics and travelling with his wife.

He is preceded in death by his parents, T.R. and Rosemarie Gamel. Surviving him is his wife, the love of his life, Donna Elizabeth Gamel; son Benjamin Gamel; daughters Ashley Gamel and Jessi (Jeremy) Worrall; brothers Carl Gamel and Frank (Deborah) Gamel; grandchildren Tyler Stewart, Madison Worrall, Ryan Worrall and Victoria Worrall as well as numerous other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 5 until 9 o’clock pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 1 o’clock pm in the Rosehaven Chapel. Interment will follow in the Powell Chapel Cemetery.
