Iva Rose Evans Tucker, age 83, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, April 12th, 2022. She was born in Lake City, South Carolina on May 7, 1938, the daughter of the late Wilmon Evans and the late Bertha Welch Evans. She was a member of Central Baptist Church where she was formerly active in Bud Dubberly’s Sunday School Class and in the Women’s Ministry. She was a homemaker.
She loved to read and loved to sew. She made her grandkids’ Halloween costumes. She loved sweet treats like Hershey’s Kisses and Little Debbie cakes. She loved encouraging folks to do right and to find Jesus. She would always say “get your heart right with the Lord” and “you better go to church!”
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Dexter Larry Tucker, Sr.; her daughter, Melissa Rose Tucker; her siblings, Pansy Driggers, Quillen Evans and Dexter Evans.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Dana Tucker, and Darrin and Tammy Tucker; her grandchildren: Justin (Abby) Tucker, Lakin (Clay) Whitesides, Gus Tucker and Molly Tucker; great grandchildren, Dex Tucker and Marlowe Tucker; sisters, Marvalene, Dolly, Glenda and Susie; brothers, David, Dan, Buck, Donald and Pete; several nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be conducted Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 2:00 pm in Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Charles Gibbs officiating. The visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:00 Noon.
Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens with Justin Tucker, Gus Tucker, Donald Evans, and Pete Evans serving as Pallbearers.
Bud Dubberly’s Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
