Gerald served in the United States Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He did paint and body work for John Smith Chevrolet in downtown Atlanta, and retired from AT&T in 1996 after 20 years of service. He loved to work on cars, and enjoyed building furniture and other woodworking. He attended Dorsett Shoals Baptist Church for many years.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife; Mary Lee Cook; brother; Steve Bradberry; and his sister; Janice Cook.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son; Matthew Christopher Cook (Emily); brother; Randy Bradberry (Holly) of McDonough; sister; Cindy Holloman (Sterling) of Marietta.
There will be a gathering of family and friends at Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home on Sunday, October 6, 2024, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
