Fredonia A Watson

Sarah Fredonia “Donie” Watson, age 92, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022. She was born December 30, 1929 in Royston, Georgia, daughter of the late Ralph D. Allen and the late Addie Lee Carrouth Allen.

She worked as a clerk for the Fireman’s Fund for many years. Donie was a seamstress. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and hand embroidery. She had a meticulous nature and paid close attention to detail. She loved flower gardening and working in her yard. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Donie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James R. Watson; her parents, Ralph D. and Addie Lee Carrouth Allen; brothers, Bob (Mozelle) Allen, Ralph (Dee) Allen and Paul (Marie) Allen, Sr.; sisters, Virginia McIntyre and Elizabeth Roughton; her son, Robert Allen Watson; and her daughter-in-law, Judy Watson.

Those left to cherish her memory are daughter, Rita Yates (Robert); grandchildren, Dixie Yates (Kent) Benson and Daniel Watson; great-grandchildren, Robert (Alexandria) Benson and Rebecca Benson; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 11, 2022 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm in the Rosehaven Chapel with Reverend Chuck Romain officiating.

Following the service, Donie will be entombed in the Rosehaven Memorial Park mausoleum with Robert Yates, Daniel Watson, Kent Benson and Robert Benson serving as Pallbearers.
