Evelyn Jaman Davis

During her high school years, Evelyn enjoyed making friends. She studied very hard and graduated as salutatorian. Her first job was working in a factory that made baby rattles during WWII.

On March 2, 1946 she married her childhood sweetheart, Edward Carl Davis. Later, they gave birth to three children, Gary, Aloma, and Aleta. Shortly after moving to Gary, IN they gave birth to their fourth child, Leza. Family was her life.

While in Gary, Evelyn enjoyed working as a fashion consultant. After moving to Cleveland, OH she continued working and modeling in the fashion industry. She loved helping others and was very active in her church.

In her spare time she loved reading the bible and reading novels by the religious author Karen Kingsbury. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed making clothes for her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Carl Davis and her son, Gary (Fredia) Davis.

She is survived by her daughters, Aloma (Warren) Gamble, Aleta (Chris) Reeder and Leza (Derek) Davis; grandchildren, Karen Goldsby, Corey Reeder, Carl Reeder, Melissa Briggs, and Tiffanie Spaulding as well as numerous other family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 1 until 2 o’clock pm. A funeral service will follow in the Rosehaven Chapel at 2 o’clock pm. Interment will take place in Knollwood Cemetery, 1678 SOM Center Road, Mayfield Heights, OH 44124.
