“yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:8 ESV
Dennis was a die-hard Georgia Bulldog fan. He was a rebel, stood strong in his political views, he was a son, a brother, a Dad, a Pawpaw, an uncle, a carpenter and most of all, he had a relationship with God. Anyone who knew Dennis recognized his love of family and friends. He was always available to help when needed. His craftsmanship, creativity and ability to build or create anything from wood was nothing short of amazing. He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gurnie Howard Bowman and Ruth Eva Bowman; brothers, Bonnie Jack Vaughn, Robert Benford Vaughn and Billy Perry Vaughn.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth Bowman (Carrie); three daughters, Kristen Bowman, Kimmie Bowman and Kelsey Bowman; three grandchildren, Christopher Bowman, Hannah Bowman and Dusty Tolbert; sister, Theresa Bowman Bryant (Ron); nephews, Joshua Bryant (Felicia) and Jackie Vaughn (Veranda); nieces, Cory Bryant Rumbaugh (Caleb) and Vickie Vaughn Smith (Joe); many great-nephews; and his longtime love, Donna Jackson Wolfe.
In accordance with his wishes, a funeral will not be held.
There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date. His cremains will be buried next to his parents in Odenville, Alabama, where a white Dogwood tree will be planted in his memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider planting a flower or tree in his honor.
