Cindy was born October 25, 1953 to the late James Willis Smith and Juanita Edge Smith. She graduated from Mary Persons High School in Forsyth, Georgia and continued her education at Crandall Business College. Cindy proceeded to work in data processing at Austell Gas for 29 years where she formed very special lifelong friendships with fellow colleagues. At the age of 39 she welcomed into the world her pride and joy, her daughter Lexi.
Lexi kept her busy between cheer practice and dance recitals over the years which she loved attending. She was a member of a special group of friends, “The Groovy Moms”, that took many trips and made a lifetime of memories together. Cindy also had a great love for cooking which she acquired from her mother, and gardening which she learned all about from her father. In her free time she enjoyed doing arts and crafts and attending concerts and Broadway plays at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. In the early 2000s she owned and operated a Bridal Shop in Douglasville, Georgia. It filled her heart to be able to create special moments for other people and this business was able to do that for several years.
Cindy loved the Lord and served as a toddler Sunday School teacher for many years at Living Hope Baptist Church. She had a passion for taking care of young children and teaching them about Jesus. Over the past three years she welcomed three granddaughters into her heart, and she loved them more than life itself. Though distance separated them, evening FaceTime calls with her oldest granddaughter, Annie, were her favorite part of the day. Her laugh could fill a whole room and her love was endless to those dear to her.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lexi and Phillip Gladman; her granddaughters one-and-a-half-year-old, Annie, and newborn twins, Millie and Mollie; and her brother Terry Smith and his fiancé Sharon.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Donia Smith.
