just remembered that Iost a good neighbor and friend.  we took an art class together, that I never forgot,   We were instructed to draw clouds in our landscape, and I will never forget the differences in the clouds we drew. I'm not sure why I thought of your family today Matt but I found your cancer stinks Facebook post and am now grieved to learn of your Mom's passing.  In our youth she was my mom too and, though many years have past, I still remember her with fondness.  I wish comfort for your family.

I met Cheryl in 1998 when I first started subbing at  BSMS, she and I hit it of right away!  When I would sub for her, my friend would bring my daughter to me from Sand Hill, she loved coming to Cheryl's class, all the neat stuff was there!  Cheryl had this pointer with an alligator claw on it, my daughter would find it and touch me with it, because she knew it freaked me out!  She was a friend, teacher, mother, mentor, and so much more to me for all these years!  I am thankful that I stopped by to see her the week  before she passed, so I was able to say goodbye.  A part of me just wanted to be there, no words need be said between us, I knew what I meant to her and she knew what she meant to me!  Rest in Peace sweet ,special friend, until one day, we will see each other again!  Cheryl, you will be missed by so many...because you touched so many lives!  I will always love you and never forget the times we spent together!

Remember year ago we were at Dollar store saw Cheryl & Jerry. Jerry opened lawn chairs and we sat in back isle of store chatting for over hour. Nuts but it was great seeing them. Our boys grew up together playing sports at Bill Arp. Cheryl Toni and few others had fun planning home coming. She was great at planning things and a special person. Loved it when 4 families got together for Myrtle Beach vacation. We sat on back deck rocking and singing like we were on stage! Ha what fun we all had...prayers are with you guys... Cheryl was a special friend for over 40 plus years.  You always knew where you stood with her!  She was a such a kind, gentle soul.  Would do anything to help someone  in need. To my McCain Family Neighbors:  I am so sorry Jerry, Jeremy and Matt to learn today of your Mother's passing.  I have know you all of your school lives, your children grew up with mine.  Cheryl and I took an Art Class together, and I will never forget how she painted her clouds on that canvas with the cabin and the fence,  Woody Fite commented on  her "turbulent clouds".  Little did I know at that time the Storm she was to face with Cancer.  I lost Glenn, my husband, to lung cancer 11/3/13.  One does not have to smoke to get the disease.  Since his passing and because I have lost other friends to this "C", I am doing all I can to asking Congress to do more to contribute to Research for the CURE.  Cheryl and I had many a discussion over our children as they grew up into adulthood.  Mothers have a universal friendship as we re-live what out Mothers did raising us.  

Cheryl was a vivacious, proactive person, and when I learned of her going into the Teaching profession, it did not surprise me, as Mothers are the First Teachers, and the School System evolved from that principle.  It was hard to believe that we have known each other for almost 37 years.  My how time has flown, Family, I enjoyed knowing your Mother during these childhood memories of yours, that I am sure you will never forget enjoying with my children and the rest of the Neighborhood.

My prayers are with McCain family during this sad time of heartache, and will continue for the days ahead.  Cheryl was a BEAUTIFUL person!!!  Knowing her from the ball field it was never a doubt that she adored her family, and she was their #1 fan. I pray for the family to find peace in knowing she is no longer in pain, and the Lord gives you all strength during this time.

My heart aches so bad! I'm truly blessed to have Cheryl as my mother in law. She was the best, mother, friend, teacher, and even better Grammy! It is my goal for my children to never forget the special bond between them and their Grammy! As our sweet Anna Grace says, "we gonna see Grammy again, we will be with Jesus!" Watch over us, and send us frequent reminders of your love. As it's those moments that will help hold us over until we are all together again!

I didn't know her well but at every baseball game I saw her at, I could always tell she was a ray of sunshine and loved her family so very much. My heart  aches for Matt and his family and my prayers are with you all

You know my long connection with Cheryl.  Her friendship and loyalty have sustained me through many of life's tests.  I am always available to pay it forward to you, her well loved family.

I taught with Cheryl at Villa Rica Middle School and Bay Springs Middle School. Cheryl was a natural born teacher. I loved working with her and getting to know her during the many years we taught together. I am  so sorry for Cheryl's family in the loss of her. I will always remember my sweet friend . Cheryl taught with my wife at Bay Springs Middle School, and I often saw her when I visited the school and at school faculty events. She was a treat to be around! Being a Georgia Tech fan, I always enjoyed sparring with Cheryl in regards to her beloved Bulldogs and my Yellow Jackets, Visited with her briefly last week and was glad that I could bring a smile to her face. RIP Cheryl. You will be greatly missed by many people,
